Is owning a business on your horizon but you feel like you’re too old to still chase after that dream?

I can definitely relate.

Society oftentimes makes us feel like success has to be achieved while we are young and youthful. Let’s face it, when we’re young we’re full of more energy and maybe even enthusiasm however I know people still in their twenties and early thirties who feel like they have already missed the mark on success. That couldn’t be more further from the truth and while there are certainly perks to becoming successful at a young age there are also pitfalls to look out for. Ever heard the phrase if I knew then what I know now? With age we grow. My twenties were riddled with mistakes both personally and professionally.

Success – especially in business – during your twenties is ideal but according to MBA Crystal Ball, the best age to start a business is the late thirties and early forties. Here’s why — as you move on to your late thirties or early forties, you develop greater contacts, a better reputation and a wider experience.

Even if you are past your thirties and forties you can still reinvent yourself and follow through with reaching your goals. Some may say that the fifties or the sixties are too late, but that certainly doesn’t mean that you start falling short of brilliant business ideas or motivation at this age. If you’re successful with your venture, you’d have a lot to look forward to post-retirement which is really the ultimate goal.

I will admit that during my twenties I was no where near the professional or even mature human that I am becoming these days. Not even close. Today I see things differently and my priorities have certainly shifted and changed for the better over the years. I have more wisdom and I am more comfortable and confident in my ability. I’m actually ready to take over the world.

This post is just a reminder that some of the world’s most successful business leaders & entrepreneurs started a little later and through hard work and perseverance still made their dreams come true.

Check out just a few of them and remember to never never give up on yourself. Keep striving, keep growing and evolving.
